About

This blog is our first attempt at blogging. I have been following some other photographers and decided this was a good way to share our photography excursions with family, friends and others. So, bear with us as we venture into uncharted waters with this blog.

Heavenly Reflections Photography was originally located outside of Texarkana, Arkansas. It was there where it all began. A 30×40 metal building located next to my home about 7 miles South of Texarkana was where woodworking ruled along with some shade tree auto repair, it was this building that slowly changed to a photography studio. Moving the woodworking tools to another room of the building and shoving everything else aside to make room for lighting, backdrops and vignettes to photograph children, families, brides and high school seniors. For a number of years it grew to be a full time business which was very rewarding and challenging.  In 2001 Valerie and I married and lived in Texarkana while continuing to operate the studio at the same location. On our honeymoon we traveled to Jefferson Texas, just an hour South of Texarkana and that is when our lives made a drastic change. We fell in love with Jefferson, we continued to return for frequent visits and on Valentine’s day of 2002 our world was forever changed, we made an offer on a home and business in Jefferson, a Bed & Breakfast. I told Val, you are a great cook and have the gift of hospitality and I can fix most anything so after praying about it and with a peace from God, away we went. Our kids thought we had lost our minds, but after a few years I think they understand this is where we are suppose to be, the proud owners of the Azalea Inn Bed & Breakfast. However, Heavenly Reflections Photography as we knew it didn’t make the trip. We continued trying to make a go of it in Jefferson but it was not to be, instead we transformed Heavenly Reflections into a Fine Art Photography business and that is what we are now. Please come back and visit often to see the latest photos from around the US. We will include some past work from Mexico and Canada.
