I think it is about time for someone to redefine “Vacation”. The old definition, the way I understood it, was to take a few days off for a relaxing time, give or take a few words. The new definition, take a few days off for a relaxing time – but first drive 2 days almost non stop to get to the vacation spot. Breaking the bonds of Texas is quite difficult if you are traveling east to west from Jefferson. It is 801 miles to El Paso and there was not much to see along the road until we approached the mountains near El Paso then the scenery was a little better. One thing you don’t realize is that from Jefferson to El Paso there is a rise in elevation of about 3400 ft. Well, we finally made it to Tucson Arizona, where the adventure begins, so stay tuned and I will try to offer up some photos to excite your visual sense’s.
About
Maybe not as exciting as a trip to Alaska but exciting to Val and I nun-the-less. A trip north to Canada and then East, around the Great Lakes, and then south to see the Niagara Falls is the itinerary for the moment. For those of you that know us well, know that we are subject to make a turn down a dirt road at the drop of a hat and that dirt roads lead to excitement. I will try to keep you posted of all the twists and turns of our WOWtography trip as we trek across this great nation in search of relaxation cooler temps and of course the perfect photograph. See ya in the funny-papers.

Every time Val and I travel, we always set up the tripod and take our picture at some cool place…this one is on the border of US & Mexico at the Big Bend National Park. That’s Mexico in the background.
